

Where falls the blade? They drag him through the large, white square of pallid stones. He has the strength to walk, yet something in him refuses to let his legs move. Part of him speaks, saying he should walk triumphantly to his end, yet another voice mocks the first, inquiring, And what is this triumph of which you speak? So, his feet drag, lightly on his toes as the men carry his forlorn shape. The colors are gay and lovely about him, the sun gleams brightly and the tapestries shine crimson, silver and gold with rich trimmings. He looks up, is blinded, looks down to the stone and is blinded again.Where falls the blade?
